Mercury 135 hp 2 liter 1986-1991

These outboards impress us every time we remanufacture them. They have one of the thickest cylinder walls ever manufactured. These thicker walls prevent the cylinders from going out of round as readily as other outboards. Mercury created the 76 degree v6 design in 1976 the other outboard manufactures did not catch up until the 90's. We found that the few failures with this class of outboards are due to fuel contamination or oil injection failure. As with all Mercury outboards we build we have removed the oil injection. Fuel contamination can be prevented by installing a Racor filter and checking it regularly. These motors have stayed with this basic design (some ignition and cosmetic changes) for 35 years.

Benefits: You can expect low gas consumption with this outboard. It very light weight (378lbs) compared to the newer 4 stroke outboards. As with all Mercury products you will have excellent parts and service availability (They are Extremely popular).

All our remanufactured outboards come with new decals, a new cover gasket, stainless steel tilt tube, and our 7 part paint system.
